Sushi made easy! Sushi is one of the healthiest and most entertaining foods you can put on the table…and pretty easy to prepare. One of my favorite sushi dishes is maki sushi (makizushi), or sushi wrapped in dried seaweed (nori). To make you’ll need: —A sushi roller (available at many supermarkets, most health food stores and every Asian market. You can get one around $2 to $4) —6 to 7 nori (dried seaweed sheets) —2 cups of rice (do not use long grain rice! Japanese sushi rice can be used, but I prefer short-grain brown rice.) —1/2 cup apple cider vinegar (or rice vinegar) —salt (to taste, I use very little) —an assortment of sliced vegetables, fish, etc. Feel free to experiment with your choices. I generally use a mix of the following: Avocado, cucumber, carrot, green onions, red peppers, salmon (I buy 3oz pre-packaged smoked salmon for convenience, since I use so little), shrimp, crab, cream cheese, and asparagus (lightly steamed). Mix and match and find combos you enjoy. I find that I almost always use avocado. —sushi can be served with soy sauce, wasabi, or pickled ginger slices. I like to sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over my finished sushi—it adds a great taste and looks nice, too. Directions: Prepare rice according to directions. Remove from stove and add vinegar. Gently mix and set aside to cool. Slice desired ingredients for filling. For a full dinner for two, I generally use 6-7 nori. Place nori shiny side down on your sushi roller. When rice is …

Why didn’t anybody tell me that making homemade sushi was so freakin easy!?! I’m late jumping on this whole sushi bandwagon but I’m so glad I decided to hitch a ride. Now that I’ve tried sushi I just can’t get enough of it! I’m still a rookie and prefer “simple” sushi (for now anyway) The philadelphia roll never lets me down!!! After trying many philly rolls in sushi joints I still prefer my homemade version! This video will show you how to make some bangin’ philly sushi rolls! The rice is perfectly seasonsed with rice vinegar, sugar and salt ( I prefer my rice a lil tangy). Smoke salmon flavored cream cheese taste so good paired with the thin strips of cool cucumber. This philly sushi roll recipe is great for sushi making beginners and rookie sushi eaters. GET RECIPE: divascancook.blogspot.com Music by Kevin MacLeod

Just a little footage of how I turned my room into a Ninja Warrior training ground. I’m making sure I get on the show next season and take a trip to japan. (More info below) Everything that I put up is screwed into the wooden studs behind the drywall using a studfinder. The rock holds are screw on holds, made for this purpose. Eye hooks were screwed into the roof studs to hang ropes and the unstable bridge from. The stud finder tool was my best friend for many days. The rock holds were purchased online from Atomik Climbing and Three Ball Climbing. The majority of the holds were from a 100 pack of screw-on holds for $199. They are very sturdy and said to be unbreakable. It was all filmed using a GoPro HD Hero 960 video camera. It is waterproof, unbreakable, and has a bubble or fisheye lens which is great for tight spaces. It comes with many attachments including a headstrap for first person views. This is how i filmed the one segment on the salmon ladder and unstable bridge. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe, comment, and thumbs up if you wish. Every little bit helps.

It’s one of the last bastions of Canadian wilderness: the Great Bear Rainforest, on BC’s north and central Pacific coast. Home to humpback whales, wild salmon, wolves, grizzlies, and the legendary spirit bear – this spectacular place is now threatened by a proposal from Enbridge to bring an oil pipeline and supertankers to this fragile and rugged coast. The plan is to pump over half a million barrels a day of unrefined bitumen from the Alberta Tar Sands over the Rockies, through the heartland of BC – crossing a thousand rivers and streams in the process – to the Port of Kitimat, in the heart of the Great Bear Rainforest. From there, supertankers would ply the rough and dangerous waters of the BC coast en route to Asia and the United States. Dubbed the Northern Gateway Pipeline, the project is of concern for three main reasons: 1. It would facilitate the expansion of the Tar Sands, hooking emerging Asian economies on the world’s dirtiest oil; 2. the risks from the pipeline itself; 3. the danger of introducing oil supertankers for the first time to this part of the BC coast.
